Abstract

The data consist of self-administered writings of seven classroom teachers, who describe their experiences of voice control, voice-related health symptoms and working in a public speaking profession. Participants were teachers who had recently started in the profession.

The participants were instructed to share possible experiences of disruptions in their ability to speak after starting their teaching career. The participants were also asked to consider which kinds of situations they found problematic for voice use and how often they experienced difficulties related to voice. They were also asked whether they had had voice control training and if they had been instructed on voice use during their studies.

Background information included gender, age and number of years spent working. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.

The dataset is only available in Finnish.
