Abstract

This dataset contains six interviews with entrepreneurs providing services for dog hobbyists. Some of the businesses provided training services for e.g. agility and herding sports, others accommodation and catering services.

The interviewees shared their experiences of starting a business, their work history, customer service practices, combining hobby and entrepreneurship, and work-life balance. The study was funded by the Academy of Finland.

Background information included the date of the interview and the interviewee's profession, gender and age. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD

The researcher sent interview invitations to the entrepreneurs through internet discussion forums, social media and personal contacts.

Six interviews in TXT format. The shortest interview totals 18 pages and the longest 35 pages. In total, the data includes 146 pages. In addition, an HTML file was formed from the data at FSD.

The data files of this dataset are available in the following languages: Finnish.

Qualitative data are available in their original language only and are not translated.

Completeness of Data and Restrictions

The depositor had already conducted a preliminary anonymisation of the data. FSD removed some further indirect identifiers. Anonymisations done at FSD were marked with [[double square brackets]]. The ages of the respondents were categorised to prevent identification. The data were converted into TXT format.

Citation Requirement
