Abstract

City service survey 1989 charted citizen's views on the current state and development needs of city services and administration. Respondents answered questions about their dwelling area and housing, cultural activities, leisure and recreation opportunities, city administration and means of communication used to inform citizens about the services offered. Their views on childcare, care of the elderly, primary and secondary schools and health services were queried. Respondents were asked how satisfied they were with various aspects of their city, what were priority areas for city development in their opinion and how the additional expenditure should be financed. The study surveyed how respondents would spend their extra leisure time if the workweek was shortened. Background variables included date of birth, sex, marital status, number of children, level of education, occupational status, means of transportation to work and distance between home and work.
